RE Complaint on Unjust Discrimination and Accusatory treatment of elderly bank customers by two bank representatives
DT July 5, 2016 - Around 5 pm
I am filing a serious complaint of racial discrimination and accusatory treatment by two of your bank representative in your US Bank branch located in South State Street Safeway, 653 So. State Street, Ukiah, CA 95482, namely: Vincent Knight, Branch Manager, and a female bank employee who refused to give me her name. Vincent said her name was Melissa. Said female who never smiled, just saw us deposited $3.000 into our checking account. Vincent was our teller. My wife was not feeling well because her knee was bothering her (she's 67 y/0) and she couldn't find our grand daughter's US Bank account number she wrote in a piece of paper. It's her last day to send money to our grand daughter for her birthday on July 7. For three days the main road in our house will be under construction and we can only go out of the house at night. So my wife was shaking when my daughter called to give her the account number. My wife sat in one of the vacant two chairs in front of Melissa's (?) desk, who's face turned visibly annoyed. My wife grabbed the pen pointer of the credit card machine and started to write the account number. Melissa impatiently stated, "THAT'S NOT A PEN". So my wife dropped it and hurriedly reached for a ball pen instead which was on top of Melissa's computer base, about two feet away. My wife asked, "can I borrow this?". Melissa annoyingly replied, "you're already holding it, so what can I say…". That really irked my feelings while standing behind my wife. I felt overly insulted on how my wife was disrespected, so I told Melissa in a low tone, "that's very 'rude' of you to treat an elderly customer like that". Melissa angrily countered, "she's not suppose to reach across my desk or she will be held responsible if something gets lost in my desk". This was just after we deposited $3,000 cash. This is totally an unjust accusation. Trying to keep my cool I uttered, "you could have said it nicely to an elderly customer that it is against your company policy to just pick up a pen in your desk. Why give malicious insinuations? Is this how you value your customers?". She replied, "you're not my customer until I start doing transactions with you". We just kept on going back and forth and then Vincent the manager joined in to defend Melissa's absurd suspicions. Vincent reiterated that my wife was not suppose to reach across Melissa's desk. "That's not the point" I said. "It could have been said in a more polite, respectful, non-discriminatory way to elderly customers like us. What did we do to you that you're so angry at us? We even greeted you well when we first arrived". Is it because we don't look "rich" and we are of a different color?". Up until we left, they are both defensive and without a hint of remorse for their inappropriate actions. Totally the opposite of a good customer service. US bank has always been our bank. Aside from our checking account, our house mortgage is with US bank since 2001. But I don't think we can still bank in this safeway branch until these two bad reps are still there. This is the first time we came across reps that gave such a bad name to US bank. The previous staff in that Safeway branch were all very commendable, helpful, and professional. Our problem though is, there's no other US bank branch in our area. We might be forced to transfer to another bank. On our way home, my wife confessed to me that she had an earlier encounter with Melissa while I was still out parking the car. When she approached her desk after standing in line for a while (with a bad knee), she asked Melissa if she could just quickly call our daughter to get the account number of our grand daughter so she can deposit money for her birthday. Melissa told her with a 'straight face' to get back in line until she's ready.
Hopefully this problem can be resolved and we sincerely hope that US Bank will act on this emotionally devastating experience we suffered under Vincent Knight, suppose to be US Bank Ukiah branch manager, and his co-conspirator who only gave her name as Melissa. If I remember right, this Melissa use to be the manager in that branch before for a very short period of time. Perhaps she got demoted and I'm not surprised. This is just the beginning and we intend to file a complaint likewise with The Federal Reserve, the government agency who regulates and ensures fair and equitable treatment of consumers in their financial transactions, and The U.S. Department of Justice - Civil Rights Division, who prosecutes acts of 'discrimination' based on race and national origin. They are located at 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.

Us Bank - Customer Care Review from Dearborn, Michigan
I contacted US Bank on 10/28/16 to report that they sent me a duplicate bill for October for my home mortgage which the payment was received on 10/04/16 and I have not received my statement for November. The representative Tasha did not have a clue of what I was saying and kept asking for the statement date which was obviously 9/30/16.
I was on that phone call for over 20 minutes trying to explain to Tasha that I did not receive my November statement but instead US Bank sent me the same bill for October which was already paid. I also told her since she confirmed that the payment was received on 10/4/16 where was my November statement? Her response was I am pretty sure you received it! What???
She called me flat out liar. At that point I requested to speak to her supervisor. She placed me on hold and came back stating that her supervisor was not available and I can leave a message. I ask her for her last name and employee ID number which she refused to provide.
She was clearly upset then as she was huffing and puffing. She placed me on another hold and came back saying that her manager was on the line. Oh really?! So I spoke to Michelle Dorbinski whose response was literally the same as the representative!
She kept cutting me off while I was talking. She told me that they do not have any control on how the statements are generated. What kind of bank is this??? I did not choose my home mortgage through US Bank.
It was sold by Lake Michigan Credit Union. This the worst customer service ever.
I will never recommend doing business with US Bank. TM.
Us Bank - Customer Care Review from Little Rock, Arkansas
1300 miles away from home and I stopped at an ATM in North Little Rock on a Saturday I was taking my kids after dinner. Will putting my ATM card into the machine the machine had a power outage and turned off and ate my card I tried to contact customer service for hours to get my card back but no one was able to help me.
I had to wire money to myself and then crosses and then I waited until Monday to call the branch to get my card back however I was told there is nothing that they could do to help me unless I was a u.s.
bank member that they only give ATM cards back to members of the band members have to order new cards they destroy them this is an outrageous that considering I'm 1300 miles from home I pay a fee to use that ATM they have no customer service at all there I spoke to the man who was an assistant branch manager who only wanted to give me his condolences but however his only guidance to me was to order a new
card. This wouldn't have been such a slap in the face except for the fact that I hadn't done anything wrong I'm really just stopped to use their ATM and the Machine ate my card the worst part about it is knowing that they give their members back the cards but the nine members who didn't do anything wrong have to suffer I would say I warned you never to use their ATM that they say US Bank on them the bank is not helpful and as far as I am concerned crooks in addition the employees are clueless and not helpful at all.Do not trust your money to them!!!!
Dont open an account with them

Get your money outta there! A BS letter about my perfectly paid credit card.
The banks are now under heavy scrutiny because of what Wells Fargo had done. I believe the banks are tightening their belts and doing all they can to make sure there is no issue that can put them into a problem with Congress. I've been a US bank card and accounts holder for many years, NEVER late on the credit card, they lowered my credit available without any notice citing an INVALID reason that I would have had to spend many hours trying to sort out. I CLOSED my accounts.
I have tons of credit elsewhere if I need it and plenty of bank accounts with money in it.
They are *** and do NOT deserve my $$. Service sucks.

Us Bank Account Review from Dayton, Ohio
BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY
I,hereby lodge an official complaint against US BANK
I checked my personal accounts and noticed that two of my account no longer existed. I called US Bank and was informed that my someone closed my accounts
I had not been notified of any issues, I certainly had not been notified of the account closure. I had not given anyone verbal nor written consent for such transactions to take place as being the authorized signer on all accounts that have I with US bank.My account was closed without a call, text, email or notification.
I called the actually US bank branch in OH who allowed Someone to make the unauthorized transition gaining access to my bank account and close my accounts. Those individuals had no signing authority, certainly have no authority to temper in to my bank accounts, and then closed them.
I made it clear that this is unacceptable and that I was going to file a police report. I then asked for her supervisor She put me on hold shortly after return to the phone, said her Supervisor was unavailable and took my name and number.
However, These people was not listed as individuals on any of my personal accounts to release any information to. As mentioned before I gave neither written permission
The law prohibits any information given out on bank accounts to anyone who is not an authorized user signer of an account,” knowingly transferring or using, without lawful authority.the teller violated consumer protection laws and industry regulations and she is responsible for doing the transaction, giving out personal account information to someone other than me and allowing them to close my accounts
According to the department of Justice prosecutes cases of identity theft and frauda means of identification of another person with the intent to commit, or to aid or abet, any unlawful activity that constitutes a violation of Federal law or that constitutes a felony under any applicable State or local law."18 U.S.C. § 1028. Schemes to commit identity theft or fraud may also involve violations of other statutes such as identification fraud (18 U.S.C. § 1028), financial institution fraud (18 U.S.C. § 134
It is illegal, sharing personal information with anyone who is not the authorized signer and without my permission or a court order, Bank teller should have never given any account information out at all; violated the privacy policy. Secondly, it is most bank policy that bank employee(s) having done this transaction alone could face serious consequences including but not limited to power to impose strong sanctions on the bank, including termination.
Customers rightly expect high standards from their banks and building societies; I discovered that my private information has been wrongly divulged to someone else this was an invasion of my privacy. As customer confidentiality is very import and ALL customers account information is to be protected.
I have been doing business with US bank 20 years and is bank employee’s has acted wrongly and needs to be held liable for the reasonably foreseeable consequences of its action. The bank has failed to safeguard me as their customer private information and allow it to be used for unintended purposes
I have not been formally refunded my funds that were in the account and have no idea where the funds are located. Upon reporting this problem to the police, neither the branch manager nor any of the other employees were being cooperative. The officer was told that he would have to subpoena any information that he needed.
I have formally filed charges for identity theft have also included the bank teller for breach of confidentiality of my personal banking account information, I was not formally been contacted about the closing of my account.
