US Bank bad for disable veteran owned small businesses

I am an independent consultant and do my business banking with US Bank. I have been depositing invoice payment checks for a Fortune 100 Health Care company for over a year now. US Bank is still putting a hold on my checks over $5,000. I've asked them repeatably to stop the holds because it is difficult for me to run my disable veteran owned small business when my funds for payroll, bills, etc. are not available. Recently US Bank gave me a hold notice and 8 checks posted the same day US Bank told me the funds were available. US proceeded to change me overdraft charges for each of the 8 checks to the tune of $39.95 per check. When asked to reverse the charges I was passed to the buck to 3 different people and each of them said "they can't do anything about it". I spoke with Bank of America to see if they have similar policies in place. They are very "small business" friendly and will work with you after just a few months to not have any holds on consultant payment checks.

US Bank and their

My advise to all using US Bank is DO NOT use the so called "free" bill pay. I tried to pay my Lowe's bill, entered the amount to be paid and was given the date it was to be paid by US Bank, but surprise, no payment. I'm glad I checked my balance or I wouldn't have found out until next month. When I called the bank I was told it was my problem; there would be no help from them although they advertise if this happens they will take care of it. I thought using my own bank site would be safer and more secure, which it may be but certainly not reliable and they offer no help when this happens.

I also worked in the technology area and found the Dept Managers are some of the biggest brown nosers and will stab their employees in the back in a heart beat. What do you think they will do to their clients for a buck!

I’ve worked at USBank in a technology capacity for the last few years. I can’t or rather won’t remain there much longer.

After seeing what goes on there day after day I would never consider opening any type of account with them. It’s not only their poor customer service that I hear about but the technology side of the company is about 15 years behind the times.

So consequently, they can’t hold on to key personnel. They truly do suck!

Assessed additonal fees with a courtesy call

US Bank MasterCard - after 20 years has become increasingly unbearable. Changing due dates so bills are never received on time, they will no longer accept electronic banking, increasing chances your check is "late". Interest rate increaed to usury levels, refusing to reduce when bill is paid in full. Latest - received an unknown balance of $5.00 (no paper bill) apparently late and assessed $10.00 late fee. Refused to remove late fee, we were told our balance was zero when making last payment. To pay bill over the phone costs an additional $10.00 for "processing" our check. This $25.00 does'nt represent any service or goods, just scamming the consumer.

Unable to check account ever

We are always trying to check our personal information online and can't because your system is always down. This is very frustrating as a customer. It would be nice just to check our information easily like we can with our other bank accounts. This is the main reason why we haven't consolidated all of our banking through US Bank. (And I guess I have to put a minimum of 100 words in order to complete this complaint so your just going to waste more of my time so I can meet this weird 100 word qouta ok one more word) Everything in parenthesis isn't really a complaint.

Do not sign up for this credit card. The worst customer service. I have been a member since 2005 and always pay my balance in full and usually payonline. This month I didn't get a statement so i didn't realize my payment was due (They admitted they never sent me a statement since i signed up online, 1rst month I didnt get a statement by mail) I always has an online account so what changed this month they couldnt tell me. They sent me an email AFTER my statment was due letting me know i had a new statement) So i went online to pay and had a late payment and finance charge. I called them up and said there is nothing they coud do and wouldnt reverse it. Who sends an email after the statement is already due? Really terrible predatory practices. I will not remain silent I have already wrote to the FTC and there practices.

Hopefully you can get resolution and US Bank takes the time to review and resolve. Mistakes happen and a good company will take responsibility for those mistakes

US Bank: We won't ever apply excess payments to late fees.

I was hospitalized for 10 days last year and some of my mail went astray. I realized that I was missing a statement from USBank and called them only to discover that my payment was due that day. Even though I paid by phone immediately, it wasn't posted until the next day and they charged a late fee. I appealed but was turned down even tho I have no other "blemishes" on my account. Despite new rules about applying excess payments to balances with higher interest rates, they've indicated that they will never apply them to that fee (which has a much higher rate than my account) until only those fees are the actual remaining balance.

USBank at 8th street, one block from Willamette is stealing from customers. The machine doesn't work.

It says that it is giving you the money that you ask for but no money comes out. It even says on the receipt that the money was provided. And when I asked in the bank, not only would they not cover their thievery, but they refused to put a sign on the machine warning people that it was broken. They said their process for dealing with their broken ATM machine was a "secret".

I put a sign on the machine for them to warn people that it's broken so other people don't get money stolen from them by USBank.

It boggles my mind that bank employees would be so irresponsible as to let a broken machine continue to steal from customers, but then they are bankers, so what do you expect these days? I tried to post this on yelp, but they get no stars so it wouldn't take it.

US BANK REFINANCE f******in Cols. Ohio

Back a few months ago I applied for re-finance and was approved. My current interest rate is 6.25% and I was approved to drop it to 4.50%. I did all the paper work, signed and faxed per my US Bank Mtg. REP.Eric Johnson, He said everything was ok and not to worry. I was not. I recently recvd. a statement from the Franklin County Auditor stating my home value exceeded 80,000. THEN the appraiser came out,,,this cost me $350.00 non-refundable. Well SHE appraised it at 60,000, which was more than I owed. Therefore I should've been approved for the new "OBAMA" flip-flop mortgage review with a forced re-finance-YEA RIGHT!! THIS IS A BUNCH OF *** Try to pursue this option,,,NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT. This Country is *** up!! It's no wonder, we are breeding thieves that don't know *** about whatever the President is implementing. Maybe Iran's not so bad after all, atleast you have recourse there-get a gun!!

Dude if you knew anything about how mortgages worked it is typical for homes to be appraised for less than what the county states, this allows the county to charge you a little more green in taxes. It has nothing to do with the President.

You have no idea what you are talking about. From mortgage biz, I do.

Hey. I opened an account US bank several months ago. They were so nice. But not anymore. Because they charged outrageous money only one over limit transaction.I asked to reverse some but answer was bad enough to make me mad.There was manager I could not write lady or women. She looks like vampire black lined all around her eyes, and treatenning to my credit history. Do not open account with them. Because Other banks charge only overdraft fee,US bank charge 8$ every day except fee. I spent around 30$ and had forsed to pay 175$. I am so pissed off. At least on customer servive they should choose nice person. I did not get managers name. But she is literally not castomer service type.It happened around 12 pm. Ralston ave Belmont branch CA

That's right - do not open an account with these folks if you plan on spending money that's NOT in your account. You may have to pay for it.

Back in the old days your check was either rejected or you got hit with a $25 bounced-check fee.

Not now - the banks will lend you the money to cover your irresponsible spending practices, and then - horrors - charge you for the loan. Terrible I say...

I had an CD with US bank in Ralston, Belmont. I closed it because the customer service was very bad.

They had a young Japanese boy working as a teller who seemed to be some where else.

Not only he made mistakes; he was not even a polite person. I don't know if the management has changed but, back then the manager did not know anything about customer service either.

yes I was robbed to there online information is misleading and they OD charge for a penny a penny....... said they cover larger items first then small so if you have something going thru your account and make deposit that day they charge you od because the charge was in process before deposit these banks are crooks making billions of consumers not fair...

US BANK--IS A CHEATER ( CREDIT CARD)

I been banking with US BANK forever. I thought this company is good like they said. Five stars service--this is so wrong, they have the dumpest people that work for them. They messed up on my credit line, my is really high-I never missed a payment, always pay two weeks early, and never paid the minimum amount, always pay in full. My credit line is really high, one day they messed it up with my credit account and they change it to really low, really low credit line, that you cant even imagine--so I noticed that and give them a call so they tell me why they messed it up? and they said they dont know who did that...but my is really low now and they think that my should stay low. I got really angry and tell them to check all of my payment and all of the activities that is on my account. He puts me on hold and he went to check at my payment history ...he coundn't find nothing wrong with it but.. all of my payment is 2 days to two weeks early everytime--which is incredible good. So now he raised my credit line back to where it belongs....but i'm still not happy, because they can t not *** with your account like that. They cant not drop your credit line down whenever they feel like it. I told them my credit is more then excellent--I deserve an increased again. They said no...Wtf.... they drop my credit line down for no reason-- I get mad and they raised it back up and they told me they just increased it for me...WTF. you f it up and you put my credit back to normal--that is not and increased. They are a cheaters. Dont bank with them.

First and foremost I would like to say that yes...any creditor does have the right to decrease your limits at any time, regardless of your payment history with them. I would also like to say that if you are going to call people dumb...you should at least spell it right.

U.S. Bank Credit Card Is The Worst

US Bank raised interest rates, even though the account was always payed off and/or low balance kept. The people in customer service did care about the account. I closed it. This bank needs to see that people are not going to be taken advantage of any longer. With the state of affairs with the banking in the united states and the world today we all need to pull together to make things better. The people at U. S. Bank do not care and the teller Gale 88070 was of no help at all and need to find a job she is actually good at.

How did they obtain access to your personal accounts! WE are having an issue with them also.

We've cancelled our services in Feb and they still keep taking out " Fees " . NO one will return calls. I'm about to close our business account and open a new one. Why can't our personal bank Stop automatic debit when we have a cancellation letter.

It is BS!! It's hard enough to do business in this economy as it is!

US BANK SPRING VALLEY CA IS SUCKS

My Family and I am a new account holder in US Bank, for past month each of my family and I have been charged overdraft for at least twice. The bank system is so confusing that in one day your account shows positive balance and in matter of a day it shows negative balance. I am sure you are thinking that we are not managing our account correctly, but this is not the case, US Bank is a professional trained thief, they will live of the overdraft charges. This Bank is stealing your money without any mercy. Shame on us that we put our trust and money in the hands of this crooks. The US bank charge my 14 years old son account $120.00 overdraft fees for the negative account of $1.95.US bank customer service, including branch Manager, District Manager were no help. They told us we can not close the accounts at least for six months; if we do, we will be subject to pay early closing fee up to $250.00. US bank is sucks...This bank is surviving by our hard work money,someone needs to stop this new modern stealer..

You are not the only one US Bank is doing this to. My husband and I live in Idaho and they are doing the same exact thing to us!

We to are stuck in a position where we can not go to another bank, but what is the most frusterating is that there is nothing we can do about it! Us Bank has taken thousands of our hard earned dollars for themselves because of these outragous fees.

This bank is unmoral and unfair, and they don't give a ***! :(
