Unreasonable Hold Placed On Check and Unable to Contact By Email

Hello!

I deposited a large "official check" from a bank made payable to me to my USBank checking account. The teller told me there would be a 7 day hold!

I explained to him that the other bank told me their "official check" was the same as a cashier's check. He said it didn't matter since the check "wasn't from our bank."

When I got home, I logged into USBank's website to email them to clarify what the teller told me and if there was a way they could eliminate the hold. Guess what? They no longer have a feature that allows you to email them!

I know I could call, but when discussing money, I like to have (and get) things in writing.

I've been with USBank for many, many years and have always been fairly satisfied.

But now I am NOT. Terrible service!

Funds on hold

Deposited check Friday morning from us bank ,ups pay roll . Only $225 was released, this is a once a week deposit I couldnt get the rest of the funds because I deposited the check in the atm I have to wait til Monday. Why do I have to wait on a check you know its good it came from your bank?? It take seconds to verify!!!

U.s bank reported me to chex systems for a 59.00 overdraft fee which happend as a result of lyft putting a hold on my money. They paid what I thought I had for a ride, Big mistake and charged me sooo much more and I have been a month late paying them back and they already reported me to chex systems. Im never late on bills and have good credit and never had a problem opening a bank account well those days are over thanks to U.S bank. They are ruining it for me. Thanks!

Overcharged interest the following month after paying off credit card over a month ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was approved for a balance transfer and US Bank paid off a credit card for me to only close the account the very next day, which keeps me from transferring the account to another bank. No bank will touch a closed account. I couldn't believe US bank could do this to anyone. My credit score is above 700. Nothing I could do but pay it off as fast as I could. I will never bank with US bank again. They always say no to anything you ask help with-complete waste of time trying too!!

I haven't been able to get my money out that bank and they closed my account for no reason and told me to contact the bank to retrieve my funds .They refuse to release my remaining funds in the bank. No communication concerning my funds from the bank .Very poor company to do business with .

Waste of time and HARD credit report Do not dare apply for Credit Card

You can have FICO of 800+, the best job well paid, high earner. Debt ratio 10%, Credit Utilization at 7% or less and still they will not grant you a card. If you can improve the factors I just explained...maybe, just maybe they give you a $1K credit card. Forget about balance transfers. Waste of time and waste of a HARD inquiry that could have been used for another better bank. Apply at your risk.

US Bank is scamming people and robbing them of their valuable credit score

I applied online for a cash back visa signature credit card with all required info. I am a high earner in California with very good credit score with no default or any bad credit history, yet my application was approved online for only $600.

I thought it was some sort of software mistake. I called up their customer service and after 1 hour of waiting they redirected me to their underwriting department. The lady over the phone in the underwriting dept tells me she can request credit limit increase but it would be another hard credit pull. I declined the request and had them close the application.

This is a complete joke of a bank who robbed me of my valuable credit score and put a dent to it for no good reason. I think they are defrauding people. Their credit card application process is a nightmare.

I can't believe this sort of bank exists in America. Even developing and third world country banks have better customer service and processes.

U. S. BANK, THE BANK THAT TAKES A *** WHEN CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NEEDED
In January of 2022 I noticed a payment notification pop up on my U S Bank mobile app on my cell phone it was for a purchase I did not make, the following business day I went to the local bank and talked with the Manager regarding the unidentified purchase notification. When I walked in the bank the female Manager was standing behind the protected window, I greeted her and then asked her to check out the unauthorized purchase notification for me, she went into the banking computer system and told me there was no purchase there for the amount I was inquiring about I disagreed with her and asked her to double-check for me, she assured me the purchase was not on my account records. I thanked her and left the bank. In February 2022 the unauthorized purchase popped up on my phone again. I went back to the bank and met with the Manager again I told her the same purchase popped up on my U S Bank phone app again she went into the banks computer system again and said I dont know what you are talking about the amount you are complaining about is not in our system. In March of 2022 I went back to U. S. Bank to close the last account I had with the bank. The Manager called me to the window. I told her I wanted to close my checking account she pretends to close my account (but really left it open) I knew my account was not closed when banking fees began accumulating on the account. As a result, I went back to the bank in April of 2022 to let them know I was getting the fees which meant my account was still open and the unauthorized purchases were still popping up on my phone. This time a young lady who works at the bank took care of me at the window a seat away from the female Manager. She went into the computer system and told me the unauthorized purchases I was complaining about were coming from a life insurance policy that was attached to my account.
I told her I did not consent to opening an insurance policy and inquired about how the policy was open without my consent. She told me all she knew about the situation was that the policy was open in my name I asked her to print statement out for me dating back to when the policy was first opened in my name. She told me the policy payments started in January of 2022 and told me there was a telephone number on my records for the Insurance Company. Furthermore, she then printed out the account information I requested and suggested that I call the number to see whats going on. I took her advise and called the phone number for the Insurance Company on my records. Before someone from the Insurance Company could answer the phone, the Manager told her to send me to her to finish handling the situation so I stepped down to the managers window at the same time a lady at the Insurance Company answered the phone. I asked the lady on the phone who gave her authority to take funds out of my account for a life insurance policy I didnt authorize.
In reply she told me your Banker opened up the Insurance Policy on your behalf (I had my phone on speaker) so the U S Bank Manager could the conversation. I said to the lady on my phone I am standing here was the Bank Manager as we speak and she just said she knows nothing about this situation. The lady from the Insurance Company assured me that her organization would not have approved the Life Insurance without authorization or consent and again told me my Banker opened the Insurance policy on my behalf and demanded that I put the Bank Manager on the phone immediately (keep in mind the U S Bank Manager was listening to the entire conversation I was having on my phone from the start of the conversation), But she refused to take the phone from me to talk to the lady I was talking to from the Insurance Company. The lady on my phone apologized to me and suggested I file for a dispute to get my money back. Before I hung up the phone the U S Bank Manager prepared three (3) dispute forms and told me to sign them to get my money back. In short the claims was denied because the U S Bank Manager did not properly complete the forms. The U S Bank Manager went on to tell me I would get the results of the claims she filed in the mail and then told me not to come back to the bank branch. She said there would be a phone number on the claims results, she told me to call the number on the claims results and again told me not to come back to her branch. She also told me she needed to leave my checking account open until the situation was corrected in the meanwhile the fees are accuminlating on this account.
I have been waiting nearly three months now for U S BANK to correct this situation, I have talked to approximately eleven (11) employees including Managers at this bank all I have received so far is promises to call me back and them telling me they are working on the situation. The Manager who created this problem hung the phone up in my face on 7/7/2022 which was the last time I tryed to communicate with her to resolve this problem and she pretty much let me know that their intention is not for me to get my money back for the unauthorized Life Insurance Policy she allegedly opened in my name.

US Bank is the worst bank in America. They have accepted a fraudulent COVID loan forbearance from my ex husband.

My ex-husband is not even on the mortgage. They refuse to return my phone calls, It is June. I have been calling since April. When I do call, the phone line always drops.

I reported them to the Consumer Protection Group. Their response was just to send a copy of the paperwork my ex husband fraudulent did. Duh??
I was told they would review the recorded calls to prove that was not me. They even have it entered when my ex-husband asked for my number to removed from their system.

So, I would not be contacted. My ex husband is not even on the mortgage. Do not speak to Phillip Blanks. He will ruin your life.

He is a relationship manager who is on the paperwork my ex husband submitted.

I never spoke to Philip Blanks a day in my life. And I am the homeowner!!!

Service Like Pandemic Just Started

US Bank @ 63rd St Downers Grove, IL lobby is always closed - thus can't access safe deposit box. A drive-up window is persistently out of order to make for long wait times outside. If you arrived as a walk-up without a car, it's especially unpleasant to breathe exhaust fume! Excuse is short staffing, which may be a good thing because management there is rude and incompetent.

Absolute Worst Bank Ever!

This place is horrible. I deposited $50k and have been lied to the entire time about every aspect of this account from transaction limits, to customer service resolving any issue I had to contact them with. Even fully verified they expect to prevent people from spending any more than $1000 and when contacted to have a specific transaction approved they flat out won't do it, regardless of proving that it is really the owner of the account authorizing it. DO NOT LET THIS HORRIBLE BANK GET POSSESSION OF YOUR MONEY! They're criminals that will make life *** trying to get any of it back.

Any other bank I've had an account with had no problem completing "high-dollar" transactions after verifying it's not fraud. Not this place though. They legit demand control over how much you can spend, verified identity or not, and you're not allowed to spend any money they don't want you to!

Then their customer service is so bad the first person I spoke to cycled the call back into the IVR because I escalated to a manager. When lazy tier-1 people don't know their job, they won't engage mgmt to work towards a solution. Their attitude is literally "Do as I say and deal with it". Day 2's interaction was a rep that seemed to do better, but I clearly explained to either allow the transaction or I'm leaving. They assured me the change would take up to 2 hours, but turns out it was just a "request" and was denied. I found that out this morning when I followed up on yesterday's actions, nothing changed, and I called back. Their mgmt doesn't even care about their customer, period. They just expect to prevent access to peoples money and that those people should just be okay with that.

This "Bank" is a sham and should not be in business.

After leaving this review I am going in-person to close this account and move all funds to a real bank that isn't a pile of crap wrapped in the bad attitudes of lazy degenerates.

The biggest point is I was told these "limits" are only for 30 days during account creation. Then during month 2 when I had the first problem arise, I was told these limits are for 90 days. Now today they claim it's for a whole year. Their people can't even get their own policies right, or they change it to whatever they want it to be at the time. Either of these is unacceptable and I've fired support personnel for lying about such important policies in other industries. Now I have to fire this bank from my life after having 3 days of my time wasted.

I hope your bank goes out of business and you all end up jobless until you learn the importance of honesty and honoring your commitments.

This will get relayed to CFPB, FDIC and the AZ Dept. of Financial Institutions. Being lied to over thousands of dollars by my own bank is despicable and I will not leave this alone until it has run its full course.

People, do not let this bank get possession of your money!
