I am not a US Bank customer, and after my experience trying to assist my disabled sister today, I will never be a US bank customer. The staff at the 35th Avenue and Bell Road branch in Phoenix, AZ are extremely rude and unprofessional. My sister is disabled, has cognitive issues and has a checking and savings account with US Bank. She was in a car accident a week ago in which her car was totaled. Today, I took her to the insurance company to pick up the settlement check so she could replace the car. We went to the US bank close to the insurance company to deposit the check. When asked when the funds would be available, US Bank stated they would not release any of the funds and insisted she wait 2 days for half the funds, and 8 days for the remainder. This was a settlement check on a national insurance company, and a simple phone call would have confirmed the funds were available. This bank refused to make a call. In this electronic day and age, there is no way it will take a week to have the payment clear, and in my opinion, this practice is purely to gain a few day's additional interest on the funds.

When I tried to explain her situation and questioned the teller and the branch manager, they curtly stated they would only talk to the customer and literally yelled at me for trying to help her. The manager then proceeded to tell me that I should loan her the funds until they clear if I was so worried about it. My sister's rental from the insurance is only covered for 3 more days, so she will be without a car due to this bank's poor business practices.

This company could care less about people with disabilities or their need to have someone assist them in some transactions. She was standing there next to me asking them to talk to me and they refused. Additionally, they were extremely unprofessional and rude in their handling of the situation.

I will let everyone I know how poorly US Bank treats their customers and their insensitivity to disabled individuals.

US Bank Cons: Customer service and lack of professionalism, Handling of the situation, Snotty attitude.

Location: 3450 W Bell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85053, USA

Every large CHECK is going to be held until it clears fully. Every bank does it and has nothing to do with your family members disability.

Literally NOTHING. This is to protect all parties involved but protects the bank more. So next time you feel like saying so and so is uncaring do a little research first. The bank is not responsible for the time tables YOU have made.

Thatโ€™s totally on you. The banks responsibility is to ensure the check clears and is deposited into her account. YOU are the one making it a issue about disability not the bank.

Sad to see a adult who canโ€™t even use common sense. Are you sure itโ€™s just your sister with cognitive issues??

It's sad to see AN adult who cannot communicate using proper grammatical structure. I believe your reading comprehension level to be lacking as well, due to the fact that the only thing you got from reading her post was that she was upset about the time frame regarding the check clearing.

(If not a comprehension ailmet, then it seems you simply are just far too dense a person to see any real issues in this matter). Her complaint touches on many other issues that are far more important than a time frame, and if you cannot comprehend that truth or are just too damn ignorant to see the real issues, then you should most likely refrain from commenting.
